Amanda Newman wanted to die right there on the spot. Her worst nightmare was coming true. Her brother, Jim Callison, whom she had not seen in thirty years, was standing next to her. He didn’t recognize her, but she knew who he was and what he had done. Betrayed and unable to forgive her brother, Amanda fled her hometown community by the Great Sacandaga Lake in the lower Adirondack Mountains. Now, she’s back.
As the week unfolds, plans for a quiet, relaxing winter vacation with her friends at their cabin are blown apart like a ferocious nor’easter. A chance meeting with old adversaries at the community New Year’s Eve party causes Amanda to flee onto the frozen lake. Jim still does not know his sister is in town; that is until he is called in to assist with the search for Amanda.
Will Jim find his sister on the lake? Will it be a happy family reunion for them? Will they be able to reconcile their differences and forgive? Or will the demons of the Great Sacandaga Lake continue to hold Amanda bound to her past?
