LIGHT OUT OF DARKNESS is a book of poems in 5 PARTS acknowledging our “Creator God” as the source of Light in the world and in our personal lives. By dedicating and committing our individual lives to Him, we experience the “power of His love.” When we “trust Jesus,” God’s Son, we receive “unexpected joy!” (PART 1). PART 2 describes the “sinful life” and “evil” and “mean” people. PART 3 has poems relating to the spiritual “spiraling down” effect on our society in the United States due to our separation from God. PART 4 contains poems that are psychological in nature and PART 5 includes poems that are lighter, in a humorous sense, and poems that describe the seasons of the year that we celebrate!

The author, Elizabeth McCroskey White, has committed her life to serving God in His church and in the community. At First (Scots) Presbyterian Church in Charleston, South Carolina, she served as Deacon, Elder and Moderator of Presbyterian Women. She was Moderator of Presbyterian Cursillo #30. Elizabeth served on the boards of the YWCA, the Mayor’s Committer for the employment of the handicapped, and The Garden Club of Charleston. For 30 years, she was a Human Resources Manager for a manufacturer that was a supplier of measuring tapes and other hand tools to Sears and Ace.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Texas and received a M.Ed in Counseling from The Citadel.
